White Tigers & Wistful Farewells: My Taiwan Finale

✧ Series Note – Taiwanderlust 2019 ✧
A year has passed since my first trip to Taiwan. I’ve grown, but my heart still belongs here. This series is a continuation of a story I wasn’t done telling—a return to the places, flavors, and feelings that made me fall in love with this island in the first place.
Travel Dates: Feb. 14–17, 2019

My third day in Taiwan was all about letting loose and enjoying a different kind of adventure—one filled with childlike wonder, gentle wild animals, and gravity-defying rides. I joined a pre-booked Klook activity that took me to Leofoo Village Theme Park in Hsinchu County—my very first theme park experience abroad!

After a quick breakfast, I made my way to the pick-up point at Taipei Main Station M4 Exit (near the highway). A comfy minibus was waiting to take us on a ride that lasted about an hour and a half. As we pulled into the entrance, I was immediately struck by the colorful, almost fantasy-like gates that welcomed us.

🎠 Magic and Mayhem at Leofoo Village Theme Park

Leofoo Village is a charming blend of a theme park and a mini safari—think Aladdin meets the animal kingdom. Some of the park’s buildings looked like they were lifted from an Arabian fairytale, with architecture resembling mosques and desert palaces.

The vibe was relaxed and cheerful, and the best part? It wasn’t too crowded, which meant we didn’t have to wait in long lines.

There were thrilling roller coasters, water rides, and a mini zoo that added a whole different dimension to the visit. The zoo was home to white tigers, monkeys, and other fascinating creatures. We even took a mini-train tour that looped around the animal enclosures.

🐅 The highlight? Getting to see the white tigers up close—they were absolutely majestic. There was something serene and powerful about their presence, like royalty lounging in the sun.

Between the laughter, the mini adrenaline rushes, and the quiet moments watching animals, Leofoo was the perfect way to wrap up a whirlwind trip.

✈️ Last Day in Taiwan—A Bittersweet Goodbye

And just like that, my Taiwan adventure came to a close.

Early the next morning, I took the Airport MRT from Taipei Main Station to Taoyuan International Airport. As usual, the ride was smooth and efficient, with helpful signs and announcements in both Mandarin and English.

My flight back to Manila was scheduled for 10:00 AM, but my thoughts were still wandering through night markets, lantern-lit streets, waterfalls, and coaster rides.

💭 Until Next Time, Taiwan

Taiwan will always have a special place in my heart. From vibrant cities and mouthwatering street food to historical alleys and theme park thrills—every corner of this country offers something new, yet strangely familiar.

This trip reminded me how deeply you can fall in love with a place, not once, but over and over again.

As I say goodbye (for now), I take with me the moments that have enriched my life.
I know I’ll revisit them often—in my thoughts, in my travel journals, and here, in these stories.

I will surely go back. Because some places don’t just give you memories—they give you reasons to return.
